I think Christmas is perhaps the hardest time of the year to be alone. Suddenly it all comes into focus when the one you love isn’t with you.
Throughout the year you hold on living day to day without having to dwell on the emptiness around you. But during this season, things are quiet, peaceful, loving. Families are together laughing and lovers walk hand in hand keeping one another warm. As you look up at that solitary stocking on the hearth, or watch your candles and tree sparkle with no one to enjoy it with, you lay alone in front of a roaring pecan scented fire, suddenly, the nite becomes way too quiet.
To those who have someone they love in their lives, be thankful for that gift of love. To those of you who do not, you really aren’t alone, there’s many out here in the same boat.
And to everyone, Merry Christmas and Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
